As of Nov 1, 2021, the Korean Government will ease some of the quarantine policies as below:

* Please kindly note that the policies change each month. Please confirm once again with your local embassy before applying for visa.

1) 10-day quarantine requirement for international students (change from 14 days previously)

- The Korean Government had enforced 14-day quarantine for all inbound passengers in 2020 and 2021.

- However, from Nov 1, the Government will require students to quarantine for 10 days instead.

- Estimated costs (including meals): USD 100 each day

- If you hold Korean nationality, you can apply for quarantine exemption at your local Consulate after vaccination.

2) Two PCR tests to be taken during quarantine

- All international students are required to receive PCR tests twice during the 10-day quarantine

- The PCR tests must be administered on the 1st and the 9th day of quarantine

3) Wearing masks is still required

- Wearing a mask is still compulsory in all public places

- Violators will be fined at least USD 100

4) More people can gather at once

- For most of 2020 and 2021, Korea was at social distancing level 4 where private meeting of 5 or more people was banned.

- From Nov 1, 2021, private meetings with up to 10 participants is allowed. (regardless of vaccination records)

And following are some of the policies which will be taken by Sogang University:

* Please kindly note that the policies are subject to change.

1) It is highly likely that most of the courses will be delivered online. (Through Cyber Campus or Zoom)

2) Examinations and experiments can be done on-campus (face-to-face)

- This will mainly affect many of the courses from the engineering/life sciences departments.

3) We may allow more student activities on campus (including sports)

- Since 2020 our school sports grounds and the gym have been closed, and club activities have been banned.

- Depending on the government's "living with COVID" policy, we may allow some of the student activities in 2022.
